Cosmic Era 73. The world is once again poised on the brink of war. Despite the best efforts of the Minerva and her crew, including the visiting Cagalli and her bodyguard Athrun, terrorists set the war memorial Junius Seven on a course that will cause it to fall out of its orbit and hit the Earth. The PLANTs get ready to defend themselves from what they perceive to be an inevitable retaliation by the Earth Forces.
